Theonomy! The women shriek and faint, the children hide under their covers (along with a good many grown men), the stouthearted shut the doors and draw the shades. The term conjures fears of stonings of naughty children, and austere clerics running a cowed society devoid of freedoms.
But is Christian Theonomy just our version of an Islamic patriarchy like Saudi Arabia or Iran?
